To Grandma’s House We Go

I just arrived home from vacation last night. We had several days in Siesta Key, FL, on the beach and it was pretty dreamy. I was never one to have fantasies of a beach vacation but I may be sold now. Even though I missed my fur children terribly, I think I could have stayed there another week. Or month. Or all of winter…

But! Back to work, and I have much work to do. We’ll start by doing a little blogging, of which I am once again pretty behind. I think we should start with this sweet little family right here. They did a session for Grandma at Grandma’s house and it was just lovely and perfect. This little one has also grown exponentially since her newborn photos. She is rapidly closing in on a year of age in the next couple months. Time flies!

End of the Road

I was driving in my car the other day, listening to an “oldies” station, and the Boyz II Men song, “End of the Road” came on. That song came out my senior year of high school (1992, and yes, do the math…I’m old) and was sort of the designated swan song for our graduation. Brought back a lot of memories. Of course, we also know that graduation is all about new beginnings as well, so maybe Boyz II Men needs to get back together and make something a little cheerier.

This tall, strapping young man is the baby of his family. He has spent his high school career honing his athletic prowess and will be headed off to UK in the fall. I have photographed both of his older siblings for their senior photos and it’s a little sad for me to be at the “end” of this era for their family. At the same time, I am so happy for them, because they have done an amazing job raising three lovely human beings, and there will be many new, exciting adventures ahead for all of them – the empty nesters, included!

Dearest Red

Well, who knew when I photographed this little fuzzy-topped 1-year-old a year ago for her newborn shoot that her fuzz would turn into a brilliant shade of copper that gives me all the feels?!? Bright, happy and full of personality is how I would describe this little sweet pea. She adores her big sister but will give her a run for her money when she gets a little older! So much fun watching these little ones grow!
