In the Beginning

I love meeting new parents. It brings back so many memories for me. The exhaustion, the joy, the fears, the wonder, the uncertainties, the love, the neediness, the confusion, the HORMONES. So much going on at one time. The hours spread into days and then into weeks and you’re not sure what day or time it is. You start the process of determining what cry means what, what holding position works best, and what the heck you can do that can mean more sleep for everyone. It’s a kaleidoscope of emotions and thoughts. And no matter how long it might feel like it drags on sometimes – because you’re just So.Dang.Tired. – it passes and someday you will look back on it and only retain tiny snippets of memories from it.

Life is funny that way.

This little love bug was precious beyond comparison. Mom and dad are madly in love with him. They may not have a clue what day of the week it is, but it’s all good when they have this little guy with whom to pass the time.
