New Beginnings

As the mother of (almost) 11 and 17-year-old daughters, I always tell people I can’t imagine starting all over again with a new baby now. I feel so far removed from middle-of-the-night feedings and diapers and spit-up. When we got a new puppy last fall, just getting up at 4 a.m. to let her out to pee nearly wiped me out for the following day. I’ve become quite attached to sleep. It’s a beautiful thing.

But so are babies and I am so happy for this family who welcomed their precious baby boy (Look at that hair!) into the world three months ago. Dad has three beautiful daughters who are close in age to mine, so I got a first-hand look at what it would be like to start again with a new baby at my age and stage, and I have to say, it looks really good on this family. I am planning to enjoy living vicariously through them (while still getting a solid 8 hours of sleep every night).  😉

Congratulations to everyone!  He’s divine!
